Being brave about Brexit

With an estimated £700m cut from youth services across England and 150,00 places lost due to austerity we’d be ignorant to think it only equates to the loss of “pool and table tennis ’ for young people, the fallout of lack of shared spaces for young people and the correlation between the increase in violent youth crime has been widely researched and documented.

However, there is a nuanced and very much needed gap that can be plugged by schools by creating an impartial space to hear, share and facilitate pupils voices hopes, fears and ideas around Brexit.

In a recent study coming out of the University of Sussex, researchers found that parents arguing constantly in front of their children could lead to an adverse effect on their children's central nervous system as well as long term effects including anxiety, sleep deprivation and depression.
